About Shine The Light
This year, SCDAA, CT is proud to join Synerge’s Shine the Light campaign, bringing awareness to communities across Connecticut. In honor of World Sickle Cell Day on June 19th, we will illuminate locations statewide in red to recognize and support individuals living with sickle cell disease. Sickle cell disease is a genetic blood disorder that causes red blood cells to become misshapen, leading to blocked blood flow, severe pain, and other serious complications. Through this initiative, we aim to raise awareness, promote understanding, and encourage individuals to learn their sickle cell trait status. By “shining the light,” we stand in solidarity with those affected and help foster a more informed and compassionate community.
